Two Counties Motor Show - Rowley Mile - Newmarket - 2007
Despite the gloomy forecast for to days weather Mini Folk United were determined to put on a good show, and what a great effort by club members and their mini's. We would have had 12 cars here today but Nicola bailed out at the last moment, basically she'd spent the week beforehand staying with her grandparents in a caravan at Gt Yarmouth and it had rained everyday. She could not bare the fact that we could be rained onto today. As it turned out we did not have any rain, the sun shone for most of the day albeit with very strong gusts of wind which threatened to blow our club stand away! Maddy had packed up Boris Saturday evening, and when it came to the obligatory bacon buttie cooking this morning she found that she had left the frying pan and utensils at home!! New member Daryl came to the rescue, his mum lives in Newmarket and she kindly lent us a frying pan, knife and suchlike. Many thank's to Daryl for saving the day. It was worth the short wait and club members tucked into a repast fit for kings. We also gained a new member today as a young couple in a 60's mini cooper turned up and promptly joined on the spot. All in all a good show once again. Many thank's also to club members who dipped into their pockets and donated a sum of money to the Lions Club. This is Rover signing off for MiniFolk United.
