Fish & Chip Run - Sunday 20th September - 2009.
Today was our clubs annual Fish & Chips outing to Sunny Hunny and Wells-Next-The-Sea Norfolk. We would have had 6 cars today but, Alan's Sportspack had trouble with his electrics so had to bail out. Our little band comprised Gene, Grant & Sean, Martin & Kevin and another Kevin from Mildenhall airbase plus me. We left Littleport at 09:45 and made our way to Hunstanton, we had no trouble parking in one of the side roads near the cliffs. We all made our way to the Sunday market and had a good old browse on the various stalls. I bought a fine wax jacket for a tenner, Kevin and Gene drooled over the tool stall making a mental list for a return trip. After a turn or two around the town it was time for our lunch with Fish & Chips from Fishers restaurant. Once lunch was over it was time for the next leg of our trip, Gene had to bail out as he was on an early shift at the Airbase, we also lost Grant & Sean as they had some work to do back home. So, it was Martin, the two Kelvin's and me who made the trip to Brancaster Staithe for a 15 minute stop and a photo opportunity. With that done we barreled into Wells, slight problem with parking, but in the end we managed to park up on the Quayside as last year. Kevin #1 bought a spanner at the sunday market, I picked up a fine brass telescope for a very good price (needs cleaning though). Next it was of to the Cider works where we all bought sparkling Norfolk Cider, so weighed down with bottles we made our way back to the Quayside with much clinking from the carrier bags. We all took a tour of the shops. Martin and Kevin #1 left at around 4:30, leaving Kevin #2 and me to take in the sights. Kevin and I stopped at Denver so he could photograph the windmill there, we parted company at Littleport as he made he's way back to base. Today was on of the best ever runs we've done.
