Members car's rolling reports.
Tuesday 14th - Misery ensued on the A10 to Cambridge this morning. I'm merrily bowling along in Mortie the 66 Cooper on my way to work with the engine sounding sweet in the morning air when all of a sudden the power started to drop off and an ominous putt, putt began to emanate from the engine bay. Oh no! what's gone wrong? Luckily a slip road was just a few Metres away and I pulled in off the main road. Lifted the bonnet up and started to check around, plug caps OK, sparks OK, oil pressure fine, no leaks etc. There was nothing obviously wrong but the engine did sound rough. Out with the trusty cell phone and a call to the AA.
Within 20 minutes an engineer arrived and did the same checks as above, only two cylinders appeared to be working - "you're not going anywhere with that engine he said" He connected a towbar and drove me back along a busy A10 to Littleport, unhitched the towbar and pushed Mortie into the garage. Well done to the AA for a quick response. Looks like I'm going to have a busy weekend ahead and will have to miss going to Mini In The Park...............Maddy
