Boris gets a One Piece rear door
Today (Tuesday 8th) Boris the Clubby estate was fitted with a One Piece rear door, it took around 2 hours to align and secure on the original hinges. The original door lock had been modified during my lunch break earlier in the day. The modification required making a new operating toggle and cutting away some of the locking mechanism. (Wednesdays 9th) Got home from work, changed and started on the second phase of the work. Rubber sealing strip was fixed around the door aperture and checked for a snug fit. Next the rubber window seal was fitted along with the perspex rear window. John Burton came over with his beading tool so that the silver beading could be fitted, (many thank's John). At the moment the door is painted in a fetching shade of grey primer, the keen eyed among you will also notice the two strips of silver Duct tape covering the redundant hinge positions, a temporary fix as I need to use the car tomorrow.
John was keen for me to see the latest addition to his car - quite a cool dash board don't you think! Like those neat gauges in the centre section.
