Maddy reports 15/04/2007.
Mortie the 66 Cooper has been looking decidely low lately, at one point the wheel arches were almost sitting on top of the tyres on the drivers side. As recently reported I'd sold my set of Hydro units to John Collins! I've since bought them back from him as I suspected I might have some Hydro units on their way out. Luckily I did not need them as the fault was traced to a valve cap which had been screwed on too tight to the valve unit, which was slightly depressing the valve stem, the result being a very, very small leak over time which had caused the suspension to drop. A new valve cap has since been fitted and the problem seems to have been resolved. The suspension has stayed up now for the last 6 days or so, but I will be checking that valve from time to time.
Boris my Clubman Estate has been suffering from rather poor braking of late. I've bought new brake shoes and two new backplates for the front brakes plus a new set of wheel cylinders for them. Hopefully these will be fitted next weekend. The brake adjusters on the front are locked solid, so I'm looking forward to having adjusters that WORK! I'll be keeping the new ones well greased from now on.
