Norfolk Mini Owners show 2007
08:15 and our convoy hits the road to Fakenham and the Norfolk Mini Owners show 2007. We arrived at the showground around 09:20 and set up our club stand. First order as usual was to supply bacon butties to our club members which were cooked to perfection by our resident Chef Cris. Within an hour or so the rain started in earnest and that's the way it stayed until going home time. In spite of the weather the show was quite well attended by mini enthusiasts who quite happily trudged around in the rain. Our club had two winners in the concours competition with John Burton picking up a First in his category. Adam Daines our newest member picked up a Second in the same category. Well done to them both. Adam only passed his driving test ten days ago, so was dead chuffed at winning a prize on his first visit to a show as a Mini driver. Maddy was pleased with her day as she managed to sell a few items from her Black Hole of a garage. She also bought a few items off the trade stands, in particular Imperial brake pipe fittings. Her local garage only keeps Metric fittings. Cris, brought along his newly refurbished estate which had passed the dreaded MOT on Friday. (see rolling reports on the sub-frame replacement). One surprise visitor to our stand was Simon Denney who had braved the weather. Simon was in his new car which had previously belonged to Doug Wilson an old friend of ours.
Several mini clubs could not deal with the stair rodding rain and left very early unlike us who stayed almost to the end of the show. We'd like to thank Norfolk mini owners for another good show. The organisers managed to keep everybody happy and joked about the rain. Well you had to laugh really!
This is a very soggy reporter signing off for Mini Folk United.
Hard to believe, but within an hour of this photo the rain was lashing down.

This low slung mini was a work of art and detailed to perfection.

Another batch of pictures for you folks.

A novel way of keeping the rain off.
