LUTON SHOW REPORT 2005
Just a short report this time around folks. Sunday 12th June and Cris and I visited the Luton Festival of Transport. By the time we arrived (around 10:05) the show ground was rapidly filling up. We were directed to the row of cars 1960 to 1970. We had only just pulled in when another Mini Cooper parked up along side of us. The owner and I started chatting and he told me it had only recently been restored and had taken the best part of seven years to do. I'm afraid that Mortie was somewhat put to shame. However, casting my mind back Mortie looked that good some six years ago. (Think I'll have to do that re-spray after all)! The weather was kind to us, alternating between cloudy and bright with a fairly stiff breeze but luckily not too cold. After a cup of coffee and a sandwich Cris and I took in the trade and auto jumble stands, there were a lot to see this year and it took us some while to do the rounds. I did manage to find one bargain - a brand new low pressure spray gun for just £10.00. After our walkabout it was time to visit the assembled classics. We saw some really nice cars and just wished we could own at least one of them. Splendid show as usual, and that's it for now.
