Littleport Village Show - July 21st 2007

A thoroughly miserable start to the day with grey skies and mizzling rain, a very boggy display field and a tractor on duty to haul stuck lorries out of the mud on the entrance road. We had no trouble as we were driving mini's and just gently negotiated our way along the track to where we would park up. We had several false starts with the weather, just as it seemed to be drying up the mizzle would start again. In the end we gave up leathering the cars. A splendid display of motorbike skill was given by the Xtreme track team, how the two lads maintained their balance on the various obstacles defied belief. Later we enjoyed a display by heavy show horses (similar to fabled shire horses.) Around midday the Sun eventually broke through and spirits lifted as more people started to arrive, attendance had been poor in the early part of the morning. In now brilliant sunshine a fantastic display of a Falconer's sport was enjoyed by all, although one bird decided to find some thermals and soared out of sight for a considerable time. By this time the show was in full swing and the field had dried out sufficiently to enable the classic cars to make a circuit or two, Adam took out his mini and came back with very muddy wheels. We had an enjoyable day out and left around 17:00. Well done to the Littleport committee for another brilliant village show. Enjoy the pictures folks.
