Knebworth Classic Car show 2011 - 29th August

Hello mini & classic car owners. Today it was Alan and I visiting the classic car show at Knebworth house. I'd met up with Alan at the Feathers Inn at wadesmill around 09:15 ready for our trek to Knebworth via the A602. This is a nice bendy road for the first three miles or so and absolutely brilliant to chuck one's Mini around. Four miles later we arrived at Knebworth House and then onto the showground. We were invited onto the Mini Classics stand. Collin who was in charge of the stand was glad to have a classic Cooper on show as other members had not yet arrived with theirs! After a cup of coffee and a munch on Corkers crisps Alan and I set off for the trade & auto jumble stalls. I was looking for an FP628 key for my Cooper. I spied several boards with FS and FP keys but was unlucky to find that particular number. Because my car has static seat belts it has always been difficult to reach the wiper and headlamp switches, luckily one stall had some of those rubber extension paddles which fit over the switches - just £3 ($4.89) a pair, also picked up a litre of Castrol R40 oil, on speaking to the guy who was selling it, he suggested that I add a few drops to the gasoline to get that classic smell from the engine - he was right, sure smelt sweet and brought back memories from the 60's when it was all the rage. With rain threatening Alan and I set of for home about 2 O'clock. As always a good show and we'll be back in 2012 Apocalypse permitting! This is Maddy signing off. PS: Hope you guys in Sunnyvale CA like what you see.
