Kimbolton Charity Classic Car Show & Country Fayre - July 10th 2011

Kimbolton 2011 10th July and our annual trip to this great show. We had a better showing of cars this time. My car was back in fine fettle with the engine well run in. Cris made it along with his Flip front estate after a long lay up. Alan and his brother were also in attendance. As usual the Gazebo was put up in short order, and as tradition with our club sizzling bacon butties were soon on the go. A rather late breakfast for Cris and I. After our mini feast it was time for a wander around with camera at the ready. Spotted a really nice Innocenti mini and a long line of Coopers, a Singer Vogue (Hillman Imp based). Further into the show we came across some really old cars one being circa 1900, a very nice yellow hotrod. As per usual the show was well organised by the Sporting Bears and the Rotary club and by the sheer number of visitors they are sure to have raised a considerable sum for charity. Finally we were treated to a fly past by a Lancaster Bomber from the Duxford Air show and on its way back to base in Lincolnshire. You just can't beat the sound of four throbbing Merlin engines as it roared overhead, and on that note folks its goodbye from the gang and I .....Maddy
