Kimbolton Charity Classic Car Show & Country Fayre - July 15th 2007

Something different for MiniFolk this weekend, a trip to Kimbolton. Unfortunately we lost Cris as his clutch went AWOL yesterday. (Personally I think he wanted to get out of cooking the bacon butties!) Only joking Cris. We had an uneventful trip up which this year was a bit quicker as the A428 has been upgraded for quite some distance. As usual club members pitched in and the club stand was assembled in short order. Young Toby (13) elected to do the cooking which he did brilliantly - well done Toby. I counted 7 mini clubs here this year, Nene Valley, POSH, Safmini, HAMOC, Mini Bandits, Dinky Devils and us.

I spotted many classic cars that I would like to own - providing my ship comes in. A Triumph TR4 would be my first choice, and it would have to be Brooklands Green. I suppose I can dream! Despite the weather forecast for today we were very lucky indeed - Rain held off until very nearly the end of the show, we were treated to tremendous blasts of lighting and thunder which seemed to be right over our heads, very elemental. We finally left at around 16:30 having enjoyed yet another brilliant show. Enjoy the pictures folks.

This is Maddy signing off on behalf of MiniFolk United.
