Gamlingay Village& Classic Car Show - 17th September
Today it was solitary trip for me to the Gamlingay Village & Classic car show. Left my home in the Fens and headed towards Sandy and the Village of Gamlingay. I have been attending this show for many years and have always enjoyed my time here. This year attendance was well down compared to previous years with only some 50 vehicles or so. In its hayday we used to have at least 200 or more. I suspect the weather forecast put off cars turning out, or perhaps it is the high cost of fuel? For once the weather forecast was accurate I'd only been parked for about 30 minutes when the heavens opened with strong gusts of wind and lashing rain, one gazebo was blown away and smashed to pieces when it eventually landed. The poles were all bent and not repairable, it was promptly binned when the rain stopped. Luckily no one was in the way when it took off! This spate of rain lasted about 20 minutes and the sun began to shine - various classic car owners were soon outside leathering their cars down - me included. The rain held off most of the day, but for the most part it was warm and sunny. I bought a Lucas control box for my mini which will come in handy as a spare - just £5.00. I took advantage of the sunshine and did a tour of the cars snapping away as usual. With only some 50 cars or so it did not take long to get some good shots. That's me done now, enjoy the pictures. This is Fen Lady signing off.
