Gamlingay Village show 2007

Not only am I an enthusiast of Minis but classic cars too. So here is a brief little report on one of my favourite local shows. Gamlingay is situated in South Cambridgeshire and set in really attractive rural countryside. Being only 48 miles away I decided to use the 66 Cooper and made my way down south.

As you know the Cooper had a blown head gasket somewhile ago and this trip would serve as a sort of shakedown cruise. Happily I can say that Mortie performed well as we ambled along the B roads. After an hours driving at a steady 55/60 mph I arrived safely and parked up in the grounds of the village college the site of the Gamlingay village show.

Cars of all sizes and shapes were already assembled including the HAMOC mini club. Holly one of the club's members had her short wheelbase mini and a pink gazebo to match, you'll see what I mean from the picture below. Nothing much more to say other than I picked up a neat bargain from a guy who was selling bits of auto gear - I now have a compression tester for just £4, that'll come in very handy for checking out my mini engines. I'll just end by saying "Good show and hot too"..........Bye for now Maddy
