Farewell Bullwinkle - hello Boris

After 5 years of faithfull service Bullwinkle (formerly Smiley)is going to a new home. He is now the property of an American serviceman who has great plans for the car. Being a welder by trade he is able to tackle the little jobs that need doing for this years MOT. He will be fitting a 1275cc engine to Bulwinkle plus other little nick knacks. He has promised that he will visit me with the new improved version. During the 5 years that I have driven the car some 50,000 miles have been clocked up. I shall miss him but one has to move on.

Meet BORIS. This time around the name is not down to me. Nicola my daughter visited me the other day and promptly gave the car a name so BORIS it is. Boris is an 1100 cc Clubman Estate. The car used to belong to a Safmini member but due to circumstances needed extra space on his driveway so the car had to go. He gave me a call last Tuesday (20th September). A price was agreed and the car was trailered over the following night. As the car still had a current MOT I decided to tax and insure the car straight away. Footman James my classic car insurer added it to the policy schedule on Friday when I phoned them, and I received the certificate Saturday morning - half an hour later it was taxed at the local post office. I spent the rest of the day checking the points, plugs, tyres etc. The brakes needed a tweak ( freeing off) They were then bled and new fluid added, likewise the radiator was drained and re-filled. I'll be giving BORIS an oil change on tuesday..........Maddy
