Saffron Walden Charity Tractor Road Run 2009
Something new for mini folk this weekend, a trip to Saffron Walden for a tractor charity road run. We'd been invited to show our minis on Saffron Walden common. Just three of us made it to the show due to the late invitation. We arrived in pouring rain which luckily abated about half an hour later. We did not put up the gazebo, but we did put out our lectern stands and chains. The sun eventually appeared and it turned out quite warm rapidly drying out the grass. Things really got going around two O'clock when all the tractors arrived followed by a steam lorry and a massive traction engine and trailer. Also on show was a splendid ford Zodiac and a couple of fire engines. We had a lot of interest in our minis and were kept talking for some while. There were a couple of stationary engine and a miniature traction engine which gave rides to the children. We enjoyed our time there and hopefully next year we'll get more members there given advance warning. This is Maddy signing off for Mini Folk United - enjoy the pictures folks.
