BINGLEY HALL SHOW

Bingley Hall 2006

A cold start to the day as we met up at the Barhill layby on the infamous A14. Alan was already there when John and I arrived. It was a rare event for me as today I was being driven up by John in his recently Peter Balwin tuned red mini. Shortly afterwards members from Safmini turned up, Karena's washer jets were completely blocked and Marc did his best to heat them up by blowing on them. No luck, the pipes inside the bonnet were frozen solid. Safmini kindly allowed us to join their convoy as Alan had left the route map and his mobile phone at home in his haste to arrive on time. Phil & Philippa were the leaders as they had sat-nav in their car (very handy). We had a good run up and arrived at around 11:15. Soon we were parked up and made our way into the show. I was after some tires for BORIS the 79 estate - got a good deal on four Falken's for just £90. Next on my list was some new door seals and a couple of wheel spacers for the rear wheels. Whilst we were walking around the show we met up with Aron, an ex-member of the original Saffron mini club. He now lives in Ireland and had brought along his 1964 mini cooper which was parked up on the balcony. We had a little chat before moving on, nice to see an old face again.

John bought a new steering wheel and a grey carpet set and various other goodies. Alan on the other hand bought just one item. A new cap! Long drive for a cap Alan. John checked out the digital photo truck and found a picture of him driving into the show so of course he just had to buy it. As we had bought all we had come for we decided to leave early and set off for home. In conclusion - a good show but a long way to go. Enjoy the pictures folks.
