Bingley Hall Mini Fair 2010
Martin & Kevin organised the club trip to this event, kindly driving 5 members to Stafford in two cars. Whilst it's usually best to take a Mini to a show, the distance (mostly motorways) meant a modern car was best. As we arrived we found an inch of snow on the ground and more steadily falling as we queued to get in, we knew it was the best choice. Mind you, there was a good turnout of locally - based Minis inside, almost everyone headed straight for the trade stands and autojumble stalls with lists in their hands. It was busy but not too overcrowded, with a wide range of spares to be had.
2010 is the 50th anniversary of the Mini Van, and there was a neat display of them in the main hall, including three early vans in Willow Green. Lovely! There were a number of themed club stands on the first floor balcony. I even managed to buy a good Clubby bumper from someone for just £20. All in all, a useful event for those people with projects still on the go, despite the long journey there and back. Many thanks to Martin and Kevin for doing the organising and driving.......John Collins
