Barrington 2012

2012 And it was the start of my annual trek to Barrington and the new year meet on the village green. I arrived at around 11:20, Alan had all ready arrived and we exchanged new year pleasantries. Today it was grey and cloudy and thankfully no rain. I'm pleased to say that Mortie my 66 Cooper made it this year seeing as the roads were quite dry meaning no nasty stuff going up into the wheel arches. Simon Denney was already parked up in his 70's Mini with its Suzuki Swift engine conversion on show. I met one guy who used to race minis for Abbingdon Sports in the 1960's - I was gobsmacked when he told me that he had two brand new 970 engines in packing crates which he had bought for just £100 each way back. I can only imagine what those engines are worth today? As usual I went walkabout with my camera and now present some of the images displayed below. As usual Monty had organised todays meeting with his usual flair. This is Maddy for Mini Folk United signing off and wishing you all a happy new year.
