Barleylands classic car show 11th July 2009

This show is only Ten miles or so from home and is a two day event. Thinking Sunday would be wet, The Clubman made it's show debut on the Saturday. The show seemed a little empty, and whilst there were quite a few Morris Minors; only three minis turned up - My Clubman, a red mini 30LE, and something called a Wildgoose - the front half of a MiniVan with a caravanette built on the back.

This amazing vehicle is over a foot wider and two foot longer that standard, and being fully equipped with bed, cooker and sink, it weighs over 900Kg!, some 50% more than a regular MiniVan. Worryingly, it still had drum brakes and an 850cc engine. I eventually rounded up the three minis and got them into the show arena, for a chat over the P.A system with the show's commentator, a man who kept saying that the Mini 30 was made in 1969! Oh dear.
